The CWB is proud to host the SPICE conference this fall! Nourish Your Success!

Join us Thursday, September 19th from 8am-6pm at Mount Saint Vincent University and dive into a day of interactive workshops, expert panels, and invaluable networking sessions tailored to empower you in the world of food entrepreneurship!

Who is it for?

Although the SPICE conference is open to all, the agenda and content has been designed with the following groups in mind:

  • Food entrepreneurs at the start-up and launch stage of business
  • Individuals interested in taking our SPICE program
  • Folks currently making food at home
  • Small food business entrepreneurs who want to scale and sell to retailers
  • Food entrepreneurs who want to make and sell cultural cuisine
  • Start-up bakers and beverage makers
  • Food entrepreneurs who want to operate a food truck
  • Food entrepreneurs who want to learn about catering opportunities with local and federal government
  • Food entrepreneurs from rural communities
  • Food entrepreneurs who want to sell in a Farmer’s Market
  • Food entrepreneurs that  sell or want to sell at festivals and outdoor events
  • Black Nova Scotian Woman, Black Women of African Descent, Indigenous Women, and Immigrant Women who want to start a food business in Nova Scotia

This conference will:

  • Connect food business entrepreneurs to agri-food and business support, food safety resources, and food business experts
  • Provide learning opportunities from successful food entrepreneurs
  • Establish a community of food entrepreneurs
  • Educate food entrepreneurs on how to calculate profitability
  • Discuss current and developing food trends
